The semi-annual geekfest DEMO is kind of like a Sundance festival for start-ups, except without the snow: companies with neat products get six minutes to make the first public showing of their wares for an audience of buzzmakers and venture capitalists. Last fall's DEMO included Fierce 15 [1] faves Jajah [2] and GrandCentral [3]. This week, it would be worth your time to investigate Pinger (voice SMS), and Nuvoiz (an enterprise-oriented softphone and fast-handoff WiFi VoIP).
