There's great anticipation surrounding Microsoft's entry into the unified communications market [1]. Nortel, with its existing partnership around Microsoft products, is particularly eager for the official ship date, as it foresees an upswing in customer interest tied to the Microsoft product.
Officials with Nortel say that unified communications tied to application platforms should bring significant new opportunities for increased efficiency and productivity in adopting customers.
Nortel is also partnering with IBM to bring hardware and software platforms to unified communication customers all parts of the SMB and enterprise markets.
