Cisco [1] and Nokia [2] have announced more than 100 commercial customers are using their Mobile Business Solution, with more than 600 customers in trials. The Cisco/Nokia combine mobile unified communication solution matches Cisco's Unified IP phone capabilities with Nokia Eseries smartphones over Cisco wireless networks to offer a seamless experience within the enterprise and public cellular networks.
Eating their own dog food, Cisco is beginning to deploy Nokia E-series phones for its U.S. sales organization while Nokia is rolling out Cisco's wireless network in its offices, labs, and manufacturing sites. Customers adopting the Mobile Business Solution include the cities of Biel, Switzerland and Maarstrich, The Netherlands, Omnicron, SESCAM, and the University of Arizona.
And there's more to come. More than 95 resellers have received dual certification from Cisco and Nokia on the combined mobile unified communication solution. Nokia is also rolling out the solution in several flagship stores around the world.
