Next week at NXTcomm, the IMS/NGN Forum [1] will be announcing the results of its fifth IMS Plugfest [2]. The Plugfests are the telecommunications industry's only comprehensive interoperability events covering IMS architectures and NGN services over broadband--wireless, wireline, cable, doesn't matter. Testing was held June 2-6 at the University of New Hampshire (points to all participants to travel to UNH).
Plugfest 5 results will be announced and discussed at 10 a.m. and 11 a.m., June 18 and will likely highlight certification of the Gm interface, as well as issues surrounding policy control, CSCF load balancing and load sharing, charging and billing, user profiles, service profiles, and FMC integration.
