Fonality has announced that the first quarter of 2008 marks its 15th-consecutive quarter of "high growth" and the company has doubled in size each year since its founding in 2004.
Fonality's trixbox CE open source project has achieved three million downloads, prompting the company to claim it leads the open source telephony market. Adding to the statistics being trumpeted, over 5,000 commercial customers use Fonality products, more than 7,000 VARs have signed on with the company's reseller program and there's also a strategic relationship (read distribution of Fonality software on hardware) with Dell.
The company has focused on affordable, easy-to-install business phone systems for small- to medium-size companies, a market niche that has attracted attention from a number of entities ranging from startups to Microsoft. It also has chosen to emphasize its hybrid-hosted architecture, call center applications, and adding unified communications features including mobility features.
Fonality now has 130 employees with offices in five countries and five global data centers.
