Divitas, a leader in the UC market, today announced its V2.0 Mobile Unified Communications product, which marks a shift for the company from appliances development to a purely software focus.
DiVitas V2.0 operates on eight new handsets, including the latest Nokia N and S models, and is being deployed currently by more than 70 customers.
DiVitas CEO Vivek Khuller said the new offering highlights the company's commitment to end-to-end product development for optimal customer experience.
"The end-user wants consistency in their communications experience to form productive habits around," Khuller said. "We deliver that consistency by developing the client end-to-end, so we don't have to outsource any part of it. This gives our customers a more customizable experience, without a long wait period while we deal with third-parties."
The V2.0 does not come equipped with its own email or instant messaging system; instead, the application is compatible with most services end-users employ and provides a space in the client for user choice. The new client focuses on seamless handoff between WiFi and cellular calls and an advanced, icon-based presence solution meant to streamline enterprise communications.
"By focusing on the specific value propositions we offer clients in presence and mobile UC and developing everything in-house, we can offer customers a service that is three times less expensive than our competitors," Khuller said. "The new DiVitas client also comes with improved technical support so that a company's IT people can implement and troubleshoot with ease."
Khuller said the V2.0client is a marked improvement over the V1.5 client, in that the new system offers social networking features, improved technical support, and new features for cellular-to-PBX transfer and conferencing. He said DiVitas is seeing significant traction with local and regional governments, who have deployed the new client and saved money while also receiving improved service. The client's ability to seamlessly handoff between VoWiFi and cellular when necessary has allowed customers to cut costs and increase their number of employees on mobile devices.
