Virtual PBX and Gizmo5 have teamed up to offer a new service combining the products of both companies. As part of the announcement, Virtual is launching iVPBX, a service that provides customers with unlimited inbound calling and no per-minute fees at a price of less than $10 per seat.
Gizmo5 clients who use the new iVPBX product can send calls via SIP directly to their Gizmo phones at no cost. The traditional Virtual PBX pricing plans include a variable bundle of free minutes with a price of 4.4 to 6.5 cents per minute for additional usage. Under iVPBX, calls coming in on a local number and sent to a Gizmo5 phone will have no per-minute fees for unlimited use.
Combining the two services gives business users of Gizmo5 the advantages of having hosted PBX functionality through Virtual PBX, including auto-attendant, transferring calls between users, and routing calls to departments though ACD queues.
As a part of the partnership, the two companies will be promoting each other's products on their respective websites, said Virtual PBX vice president Greg Brashier. "Using Gizmo as the client allows us not to have a unique proprietary thing. For small businesses, the net effect is to have a complete package deal that costs around $10 less than the roughly $40 other systems from Packet 8, RingCentral and most of the others out there would cost." Brashier believes the new offering will allow the company to move up-market from its typical 5 to 10 person SMB offices to businesses of up to 50 people.
For Gizmo5, this adds up to the latest SIP partnership deal the company has announced. Earlier in the month, Nimbuzz announced a partnership and cross-promotion deal with Gizmo5, including the aforementioned exchange of web ads between the two companies.
