Cisco announced a major push to corner the collaboration market with new products, reseller options and licensing packages for its unified communications solutions. Cisco said unified communications and collaboration are effective ways for businesses to increase productivity and innovation; indeed, the company pegged the value of the market at a whopping $34 billion.
As part of its push, Cisco highlighted a range of new products and services including the new Unified IP Phone 6900 Series and Unified Videoconferencing 7.0 product. The company also introduced the Collaboration User Group for its partners and customers to share best practices for implementing Cisco unified communications solutions. Finally, Cisco expanded its WebEx reseller program and rolled out Cisco Unified Workspace Licensing Entry Edition, which is a bundled offering targeted at emerging markets where mobile phones are pervasive.
