Now that Sprint/Nextel says its next-gen wireless network will be based on WiMAX, it would be good if someone could demonstrate that it would work. Nortel, take a bow. The Canandian telecom giant last week showed a 4MB video stream with an integrated program guide. At the same time, users could conduct IM and VoIP sessions running under IMS. Now, this was a lab and not a commercial deployment, but it's nice to know that these kinds of sophisticated 4G services can actually move from theory to real life.
