BrightCom launches new line of Integrated Telepresence
LOS ANGELES - Sept. 03, 2009 -- BrightCom, the performance leader in integrated telepresence and video conferencing solutions, announced today their expansion of the largest range of telepresence and video conferencing solutions with the launch of Lumina Telepresence. Lumina Telepresence is a new line of solutions built for robust business collaboration. BrightCom will debut the first product of their new line, the L37. The L37 is a modular solution that provides a complete turnkey environment integrating immersive telepresence with web conferencing functions for instant, life-like communication.
BrightCom is launching Lumina Telepresence and unveiling the L37 in booth #202 at TMC's Internet Telephony Conference and Expo (ITEXPO) West 2009 September 1-3 at the Los Angeles Convention Center.

As reports from analyst group Frost and Sullivan show, telepresence and video conferencing markets are poised for growth reaching $4.7 billion by 2014. The rate of businesses adopting these mediums of communications how that telepresence is rapidly becoming a standard for today's work environment.

The Lumina Telepresence line is comprised of multiple offerings providing integrated telepresence and web conferencing environments. The L37 is the first of the product line. The next offerings are due to be released in Q4 of 2009 and mid 2010.
Instant Modular Telepresence for Natural Teamwork
The L37 is a multi-point, multi-camera, modular telepresence workstation comprised of a work desk, backdrop and private immersive enclosure. The work desk contains a standard 19 inch component rack mount, power
and network ports and a touch panel display for meeting control and administration. The backdrop includes three built-in 37 inch LCD monitors, three high definition cameras, and spatial audio technology for enhanced
immersion. The private enclosure includes acoustically tuned walls enhancing the immersive conference room experience. Lighting fixtures are also available for various experiences.
With technology for gaze correction, and spatial audio L37 provides the natural feeling of real-life, in person conversation, bringing people and ideas around the world to the same table. L37 is built for collaborative work sessions for 2-6 people with support for all BrightCom technology and industry standard endpoints using SIP. Endpoints include laptops, desktops, conference rooms, telepresence suites and in the future, mobile devices.
The L37 uses the Lumina Telepresence Console that supports video broadcasts up to 1080p, CD-quality audio and dynamically scalable bandwidth from 1MBps to 6MBps. Meeting participants can adjust their bandwidth in real-time allowing for high quality meeting broadcasts. Participants can direct connect to other BrightCom systems or any industry standard system using SIP. Meetings can be conducted 'one to one' or 'one to many' with video, voice and data. The Lumina Telepresence Console can also act as a stand alone
device for in-house conference room meetings. Its rich-feature set can be enhanced through configuration or software updates.

VCS 2.0 enables businesses with one solution for meeting administration, management, SIP registrar and a full set of web conferencing functions. Participants in meetings leveraging the L37 can utilize any of the three monitors to display and share data in its native format including high resolution video clips, images, documents or any other type of business information. For effective collaboration, meeting participants can share applications, broadcast their screens, cooperatively mark up meeting materials, and remote control other participants' desktops.
