VoIP Security Spotlight: VoIP gets Hacked
As more and more companies adopt VoIP and unified communications as their major forms of communications, they become more concerned about security. And rightfully so, since just as they adopt these new technologies, so do hackers evolve to target the new systems. Since UC is data-based, the threat to communications security is even greaters.
Lately we've seen the FBI warn folks about hackers targeting SIP and Sipera getting an influx of cash to increase its security offerings. Companies offering major security on their devices--like Acme Packet and their Net-Net SBC--are seeing lots of growth as well. With UC and VoIP uptake on the rise and with even more secure sectors like the government interested in the technology, security is a huge priority in our industry.
