8x8 shows bigger business is signing up for hosted VoIP
Hosted VoIP services have historically been a small business play, but as technology improves and big companies look at how to save a buck, this might be changing. 8x8 announced some new customers this week pointing to the deals as evidence that larger businesses are also looking into hosted VoIP.
8x8's newest customers includes a the independent publishing house H.W. Wilson which installed 160 8x8 Virtual Office hosted PBXs at its headquarters in New York. The company offers print and online indexes, full-text databases, and other products and services tailored for public, school, college, and special libraries in the U.S. and worldwide. Additionally, 8x8 has signed up an IT company working in 15 states as well as China and India, a college up in Massachusetts, and an education services company with 8x8 deployed at two corporate offices and ten home offices supporting its trainers in the field.
