8x8 tops 20K business customers

Despite the poor economy last year, 8x8 was able to add about 1,000 new business customers each quarter. The company now claims to have 20,000 business customers taking advantage of 8x8's Virtual Office phone service, hosted Call Center and Key System services, as well as SIP trunking and unified communications (UC) solutions.

The company launched its Virtual Office Pro service only in January, and it already boasts 2,500 business customers paying subscriptions for that service. That new service allows business customers to access web telephony, video and voice Web conferencing, fax, call recording, an online dashboard with Outlook contacts and corporate directory integration all from a web portal. The service also has an iPhone app tie-in.
