A Web-to-PSTN API
I can't quite decide whether this is a great idea or something so retro that it's deserves comment. Jaduka is a spin-off of Network IP created to popularize a new API for web programmers. Jaduka claims its API is the only one in the world that will allow a website to establish a call over the PSTN. Why, with so many entrants that do the same thing for the VoIP market, would anyone want to bridge to the PSTN? Quality, says Peter Patullo, chairman of the parent company, Network IP. Network IP has been doing it for years for clients including cars.com. The API sets up calls through one of Network IP's Nortel switches--so part of the business plan is selling buckets of minutes to programmers who take advantage of the API.
