Acme Packet solutions find their way to China's contact centers

Tools

Just last week, the Chinese premiere visited the U.S. and announced more markets for American products. Now Acme Packet (NasdaqGS: APKT) has announced a deal with one of the leading Chinese hotel booking companies to provide its Net-Net session border controllers (SBC) to deliver IP communications for their new contact centers.

Ctrip, China's largest online booking company for hotel reservations, airline tickets and tours will use the Acme Packet deployment to provide SIP trunking communications for its 24-hour global IP contact center. The online company has over 40 million registered members and books more than 2 million hotel room nights a month. The company's new contact center will have 12,000 call agents.

The Acme Packet SBC SIP trunking services will significantly reduce telecommunications costs as well as provide critical security that prevents unauthorized or malicious traffic as well as denial of service (DoS) attacks from disrupting the Ctrip network.

"By enabling us to migrate from our legacy call center infrastructure and launch contact centers leveraging an all-IP communications infrastructure, the Acme Packet implementation has helped us to achieve our customer service goals while dramatically reducing costs." said Chen Min, General Manager of the Ctrip Research Center in a release.
