Agreement expected to improve data services for Reliance's enterprise customers

Alcatel-Lucent (NYSE: ALU) and Indian telecom service provider Reliance Communications have signed a billion dollar contract for the telecom equipment giant to integrate Reliance's wireline and wireless teams into a single network management organization. Alcatel-Lucent will run operations support systems, introduce network optimization tools and standardize tools, process and best practices for Reliance. Punit Garg, chief executive officer for Reliance's global and enterprise business, said the agreement will help improve the delivery of data services to its enterprise customers. Read more
