Alcatel-Lucent readies rev of OmniPCX Enterprise

Alcatel-Lucent, the merger safely in the books, is making the rounds of VoiceCon to talk about the new version of its OmniPCX Enterprise. The news is that version 8 of the softswitch, which ships in July, will now support up to 15,000 users on a single server (up from 5,000), and that servers will be able to be clustered to serve 100,000 users. Also, its systems are designed so that a regional media gateway is able to provide full feature functionality in its branch should it lose connectivity with an upstream data center.
