Analyst urges caution on Siemens phones

Tools

This news is remarkable because analysts are usually a pretty rah-rah bunch. But an IDC analyst is suggesting that enterprises might want to steer clear of Siemens' new SIP phones because the company's prospects have gotten dicey. The phones themselves are pretty good, the analyst says. It's just that there's a corruption investigation going on at the enterprise telecom division of Siemens, and the parent company has been engaged for months in trying to sell the division. Either one might serve to make potential customers cautious. Together, IDC says, potential customers need to be smart about the products' future.
