AOL, Klausner settle patent dispute
AOL has agreed to pay an undisclosed amount to settle a $200 million patent infringement suit brought against it by Klausner Technologies concerning voice mail and VoIP tools. Klausner claimed AOL was using its technology, which lets subscribers receive visual notification of new voice messages and selectively retrieve messages from their displays. As part of the settlement, AOL will now license Klausner's technology for its VOIP Total Talk/Voicemail services.
