Apple's iOS 5 may offer AirPlay support for FaceTime

Tools

Apple's (NASDAQ:AAPL) third iteration of its iOS 5 beta, which it sent out to developers this week, allows users of its franchise video calling app, FaceTime, to live stream video chats to a television screen using AirPlay.

The feature means that, for example, a holiday call to a relative could be shared on the big screen with the rest of the family, or that a sales rep can announce a big deal with the bosses back at the home office on the big screen.

MacRumors said there's no guarantee the feature will make it into the final version of iOS 5 that's reportedly due out in late summer or early fall.
