Axia TP taps Sonus Networks' NBS 5200 for SBC solution
VoIP service provider Axia Technology Partners has implemented Sonus Networks' NBS 5200 platform, expanding its carrier-class services with the ability to integrate higher levels of security and encryption, network call control, quality of service, advanced media services and high volume switching.
"The introduction of this advanced carrier class VoIP switching platform into our network will help us to better identify and reduce toll fraud, improve VoIP security, and lay the foundation for exponential market expansion," said Managing Partner of Axia TP Josh Ross.
Axia TP switches millions of local, long distance, and toll free minutes monthly. The expansion will not only provide its existing clients with top tier service, but it prepare the company for new growth. Axia TP has peering access to 29 of the nation's largest carriers.
Sonus rolled out the NBS 5200 a year ago, the first product on its next-gen ConnixIP platform. The NBS 5200 is a high density, high scalability Session Border Control solution with integrated transcoding and media interworking; it also features native support for IPv6 and IPSec encryption. It combines full SBC functionality including media interworking, advanced routing and policy engine, and multi-access security gateway functionality.
