BroadSoft scores hosted UC win with S. Korean service provider
BroadSoft (Nasdaq: BSFT) has scored a big win in the APAC region, today announcing it would power hosted unified communications for LG U+, a South Korean service providers of mobile, fixed-line and broadband communications services.
The deal is a first for a Korean service provider, and will allow LG U+ to differentiate its hosted UC services by offering fixed-mobile convergence (FMC) services without the need for additional equipment.
The operator will leverage the BroadWorks voice application platform, which includes video, voice, call center, conferencing, messaging and mobility, to launch its hosted UC offering to enterprises on any device.
BroadSoft's solution allows users to move live calls between devices, and gives them business calling features like call transfer, extension dialing, hunt groups and attendant consoles, regardless of which device they use to answer or make calls. The platform also stores communications preferences in the cloud, synchronizing them with the client on login.
