C&L: Juniper expands marketing team

Juniper has appointed three people to its marketing team: Steven Wastie, formerly Juniper EMEA VP, Emerging Technologies, is now VP, Enterprise Marketing; Shailesh Shukla is VP, Service Provider Marketing and Partnerships and was formerly VP, Strategy and Business Development at Redback Networks; and Sam Ezekiel has been appointed VP, Managed Services Marketing. Earlier, Ezekiel was senior director, Marketing and GM for the Access Router and Wireless Mobile Router Businesses at rival Cisco.

Nortel Networks named IBM executive Lauren Flaherty as chief marketing officer.

LongBoard Senior VP of Global Sales Hari Haran has been named president and CEO. Haran joined LongBoard in March 2005 and replaces JD Howard, who resigned to pursue other interests.

GlobeTel Communications COO Lawrence Lynch has been appointed acting CFO, succeeding Thomas Jimenez, who has retired for health reasons.

UTStarcom EVP and COO Mike Sophie has resigned to pursue other opportunities.

Vistula Communications Services, a provider of hosted, managed VoIP services, has appointed Keith Markley as CEO.

Newport Networks has tapped BT's Alan Nunn as CTO.
