ChitrChatr's Comprehensive Universal Unified Communications Platform isn't quite ready for official release, but the company has made some more progress since it launched the beta in September.

Now the company has unveiled version 2.0 of CUUCP's beta and is planning to release a mobile beta version of the app. CUUCP is meant to be an all-in-one unified communications product that offers voice, video, text chat, conference calling, messaging, SMS, email and social networking capabilities across Windows, Mac, Linux, iOS and Android platforms.

Unified communications is growing, but the greatest growth is coming from the unified communications as a service side of the market. Such unified communications business suites are growing in popularity. According to Synergy Research Group, the all-in-one UCaaS offerings currently own about a third of the greater UCaaS market, but they're growing faster than the standalone apps that currently dominate the UCaaS market.

ChitrChatr obviously hopes to capitalize on UC market maturation, but it will be going head-to-head against already established companies like ShoreTel, 8x8 and RingCentral.

ChitrChatr noted in its announcement that it's staffing up and continuing to work toward completing beta testing of CUUCP. There is no indication as to when the beta phase will be complete and the product will be generally available.
