Cisco 3Q earnings call and 'Q in Review'

Ok, so Cisco hasn't announced their earnings yet, but it has been quite an eventful third quarter for the networking company. Nowhere more than IP communications are we aware of all the things Cisco has been up to.

On May 12th, we can tune in and find out if all their jockeying has paid off, but the company has sent out a release to remind us of everything they've been up to. It's hard to forget that Cisco made an offer to buy out TANDBERG early on in the quarter for an eventual sum of $3.4 billion after some investor protest. Cisco also recently launched its mobile collaboration apps for the Apple iPad and BlackBerry smartphones offering Cisco WebEx online meetings to users. Bank of America and Cisco announced an agreement to deploy the largest network of Cisco TelePresence systems across the bank's global operations. In addition, Duke University and Cisco launched a virtual lecture hall using Cisco TelePresence technology.

An item I missed, but think is pretty interesting is BT delivered a virtual fitting room solution to Tommy Hilfiger using its
Unified Communications Video solution with Cisco's TANDBERG technology enabling design teams in Amsterdam and New York to
collaborate with manufacturing teams in Hong Kong. Sure that wont be the silver bullet for Cisco's earnings, but it's nice to see some creative applications of the tech in our field.
