Cisco launches new UC solution for SMBs
Small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) want the unified communications (UC) toys the big guys get to play with, and that growing interest means great opportunities for UC providers.
Cisco (Nasdaq: CSCO) has announced two new UC systems for SMBs. The first offering in the new family is the Cisco Unified Communications 300 Series which is targeted at businesses with two to 24 seats and will sport a configuration and management system on the web, IP-based voice, SIP trunking as well as wireless, routing, and switching capabilities.
Medium-sized businesses will be able to take advantage of Cisco's UC Manager Business Edition, which supports up to 300 seats and 10 locations. The 3000 has standard voice, conferencing, call management, telecommute functions. In addition, the 3000 allows medium-sized businesses the ability to move their 3000 license to the 5000 series as their company's needs grow.
