Cisco modifies UC licensing

Tools

Unified communications (UC) may seem complicated, but in the end its all about simplifying customers' business communication. In that spirit, Cisco has decided to simplify how it licenses its UC software to its customers.

The changes are being made to Cisco's a la carte User Connect licensing program. Before, customers expressed confusion at the al la carte licensing as being too complex with a per server right-to-use fee and an additional device licenses. Since customers told Cisco that they were used to per-workspace type licensing models, Cisco has decided to collapse the pricing to simplify it for customers opting for the User Connect program.
