Cisco to represent Openet's product suite globally

Service optimization software provider Openet said Cisco (Nasdaq: CSCO)has agreed to serve as a global reseller of the company's product suite including Policy Manager, Convergent Charging, Network Edge Rating, Balance Manager, Profile Manager and Convergent Mediation, all running on Cisco Unified Competing System (UCS).

Openet, which works with tier one communications and media service providers, said the deal will increase its worldwide reach and put its 3GPP compliant products within a suite of Policy and Charging Control (PCC) solutions, including Cisco's LTE, fixed-mobile convergence, M2M, video and cloud initiatives.

Cisco and Openet collaborated on joint deployments at Turkcell and Meteor Ireland in 2010, along with deployments with operators in Japan, Austria and the Netherlands.

That work, and seven years of co-selling with Cisco on more than 20 accounts, laid the groundwork for an agreement on a comprehensive set of reseller terms covering commercial and technical services, as well as support models, Openet said.
