Cisco's latest server release makes video even easier

Tools

Cisco (Nasdaq: CSCO) is taking its quest for video communications to a new level. With its new offering anyone in your customers company can become an online video producer.

The new offering will make it easy to create and consume new video content across the enterprise using the familiar Cisco TelePresence as well as other video end points. Cisco's TelePresence Content Server 5.0 gives customers access to an end-to-end video recording and streaming solution allowing users to record a meeting in a Cisco TelePresence session in high resolution (1080p at 30 frames per second), or 720p at 60 frames per second and immediately review, play back and share that recording with others through integration with Cisco Show and Share--a webcasting platform.

As part of the announcement, Cisco has launched its first line of Unified IP Phones that have cameras built in to the devices which will offer enterprise workers access to video communications that are easy and affordable to deploy. The phones integrate with all of Cisco's video endpoints and sport energy-saving features to answer the call for more green technology. The company also revealed a  new user interface for Cisco TelePresence endpoints that combines the features of Cisco's one-button-to-push technology and a rich touch-screen feature set.
