Deltathree revenues rise, net loss narrows in Q1
Hosted VoIP solutions provider deltathree reported a 15 percent increase in revenue for the first quarter and a smaller net loss, as the company seeks a new direction under new majority owner D4 Holdings and CEO Effi Baruch, who was appointed in December 2008. The company had total revenues of $5.3 million for the first quarter, compared with $4.6 million in Q4 2008 and $5.4 million in Q1 2008.
The company's GAAP net loss for the quarter was $400,000, which included $200,000 in one-time legal expenses. The GAAP net loss for Q1 2008 was $2.8 million, so the company has been improving its financial position considerably.
Deltathree has reduced its spending on research and development and marketing in the past year, which allowed it to narrow its net loss significantly, while revenues stayed flat year-over-year.
