Developing market VoIP provider TalkFree surpasses 1.5 million mobile app downloads
Often in competition, the niche is key. TalkFree, an international VoIP and mobile VoIP carrier, has a lot of competition in the mobile VoIP app market, but the company seems to be hitting milestones with its popular Nokia-based program targeted at developing markets in Middle Eastern and African countries.
The company has hit the 1.5 million downloads mark for its mobile VoIP apps. With all those downloads, it's also promising that by the end of 2010, TalkFree had completed over 280 million calls and exceeded 1.5 billion SIP-terminated voice minutes over its network.
"Call shop and Internet café owners in our target markets were already familiar with our VoIP service and industry-leading, web-based management system," says Jean Templin, director of marketing for TalkFree in a release. "When we added our 1legCall mobile VoIP application for the most popular Nokia cell phones in their respective markets, their customers started signing up in droves."
Since launching 1legCall in 2009, the company reports their VoIP traffic increased 800 percent.
