Ditech announces virtual HD voice solution

Ditech Networks has released a new high definition voice solution for cable, mobile and VoIP network operators.

By using bandwidth expansion and warping to enhance transcoding between a Wide Band codec and a Narrow Band codec while preserving the Wide Band audio quality, the HD Voice solution enables wide band level audio on narrow band and traditional calls. This increases clarity and overall offers the user a better audio experience.

The solution addresses the issue where an HD call is made to a non-HD phone and the call quality suffers--with Ditech's solution, a near-HD experience is preserved. Service providers using the Virtual HD Voice solution can now deploy virtual HD voice services to their entire customer base without upgrading handsets in about an hour.
