Fonolo launches public beta of phone menu bypass service

Tools

Just in time for the holidays, FierceVoIP 15 winner Fonolo entered public beta this week.

Fonolo's web-based offerings include "Deep Dialing," which indexes the automated phone menu on customer service lines of large companies, and "Intelligent Call History," which keeps track of all the calls a user makes to a given company for reference. Users can also take notes in a sidebar while on the calls with Fonolo recording that information as well.

"We are thrilled to open the doors to the general public in time for the holiday season and offer consumers a better way to reach the hundreds of companies in our database," said Fonolo CEO Shai Berger. "Two of Fonolo's most popular categories are travel and consumer electronics, so we expect a great deal of activity during the next month."

Fonolo has already charted 300 major companies' annoying automated answering services and customer service menu trees, and it plans to continue to add to its list so it can speed up access to credit card companies, rental car services, banks and major retailers. The services will be free throughout the beta period.
