Fring launches free group video calling for iOS, Android devices
Fring just took a big leap forward, exiting beta and officially launching its group video chat for iOS devices, including the iPad, iPhone, and iPod touch, as well as Android devices.
With fring's Group Video calling, up to four fring friends can now share a simultaneous video call, for free, on their mobile phone (on Wi-Fi, 3G or 4G), using fring's proprietary DVQ technology that optimizes individual video streams.
The free app is available on Android Market and at the App Store
Fring is the first company to bring mobile Group Video calling across platforms, for free.
"There is no reason why users need to run home to their PC in order to have a 'spontaneous' video call with their friends and family, "said Co-Founder & CEO of fring Avi Shechter. "Just as fring was the first to liberate video calls from the PC back in 2009, we are the first to give users the ability to see all their friends on their phone at the same time, anywhere. This video call revolution lets fringsters be free to get together, wherever."
