Genband could acquire Cedar Point

First Nortel CVAS, now cable-VoIP services provider Cedar Point? According to the sources of TelecomPaper, Genband is eyeing another acquisition to give them the scale to challenge Cisco.

Cedar Point is a cable-focused VoIP services provider focused on mainly cable operators such as Comcast and Charter Communications. The VoIP company had apparently been seeing sales slump recently and reportedly hired an investment bank to investigate liquidity options earlier this year. A sale was one of the options. TelecomPaper thinks that the companies might be looking to close a deal in a few weeks.

Neither CedarPoint nor Genband would comment on the rumors.
