Genband UC-There's an app for that

In today's world if you don't have an app for your product, your product probably runs apps. Genband has decided that its unified communications (UC) universe needed to take a number from the mobile phone world and add apps to the mix. The result? The GenApps showcase.

The site is set up to allow Genband customers easy access to various customizations for the UC deployments of their clients. The app website features apps for integrated audio, video and UC collaboration, enterprise mobility and advanced messaging. All the apps on the site so far are powered by Genband's A2 Converged Application Server and the Genband GENiUS platform.

In the coming months the company will add Web 2.0 apps, CRM apps. One cool thing about the CRM apps is they are looking to launch specifically targeted apps for vertical markets like healthcare, government, legal and education sectors which might lead to a more customized feel for UC depending on the industry.
