Gigaset PRO handsets launch for the SMB market
IP phone maker, Gigaset, is launching products targeted at the SMB market. The company is fresh from its separation from Siemens (NYSE: SI), which divested from the brand last year, and is now looking at new markets for its SIP DECT handsets.
Gigaset's PRO line will be aimed at small- and medium-sized businesses with five to 30 users who want to take advantage of SIP-based VoIP without having to sign up for a full scale big brand deployment. The upmarket handsets have PBX functionality and three standalone gateway units that can scale up to 100 users. The system also supports fax, ISDN, and PSTN fall-back.
Gigaset's PRO line will be available through resellers and VoIP service providers including DSG, Tesco and Nimans as well as a new provider ProVu which targets the hosted telephony market.
