Global Crossing, Vonage expand service

As spring comes to a close, VoIP is blossoming across the globe. Global Crossing announces the addition of local service to nine additional countries and service enhancements in the U.K., and Vonage rolls out service to new cities in Canada. Global Crossing's VoIP Local Service is now available in 20 countries. New to the roster are six European and three Latin American countries. In addition, the VoIP provider is offering emergency calling services and local number portability in the U.K. In Canada, Vonage is offering VoIP service to Brandon, Manitoba, and Saskatchewan's two largest cities. Vonage is expecting a warm welcome in its new coverage areas from consumers that are hungry for new calling features.
