Google Voice now partially on iPad, no calls yet

Tools

Google Voice, the free 'one number to rule them all' app from Google, would truly rule most telecom junkies lives if they could get it on all of their devices. Now that dream is a little closer to coming true.

The Google Voice app has now been rejiggered so that it can be loaded on iPod Touch and the iPad. The app is the iPad VoIP solution you've been waiting for though. Voice users will not be able to make calls from these new devices, but they will be able to use the app to set up calls from their other phones.

The VoIP capabilities being absent might sting a little, but there is on bright spot: voice users can use the app to send text messages from their iPad or iPod Touch.
