Have small carriers found an exit strategy?

Tools

Maybe this is what some discount VoIP carriers have in mind as an exit strategy. The UK's Freetalk service--owned by the Dixons store chain--has been sold to Vonage. Customers will be able to keep their phone numbers and rate plans (Vonage is a little more expensive than Freetalk), but will apparently need to install new equipment. No word on how many customers Vonage is gaining in the deal or how much (if anything) the company paid for them.
