HP rolls out trio of UC solutions for collaboration, communication
With a deluge of unified communications products hitting the market, HP is rolling out its own array of solutions and services targeted at helping its customers improve collaboration and business responsiveness.
The company said its new Voice Transformation Solutions, Virtual Workplace Solutions and Network Readiness Services address the trials organizations face when integrating telephony with communications applications, such as video or instant messaging.
A November research report from Gartner, Adoption of Unified Communications Creates New Sourcing and Deployment Challenges, highlighted the challenges organizations faced with enabling a growing virtual workforce, as well as interoperability issues caused by aging, inflexible telephony and network infrastructures and disparate communications systems. By 2015, Gartner forecast, 60 percent of organizations will offer employees at least four parallel, overlapping, voice/telephony options.
"Clients need to understand how changes to their work environment can impact communications," said Rich Skoba, director of worldwide strategy, unified communication and collaboration for HP Services. "By collaborating with HP, clients can leverage HP's methodology and testing of multivendor UC solutions to create their unique Unified Communications journey, transforming their communications infrastructure to address needs today and into the future."
HP is collaborating with leading industry vendors--Microsoft, Avaya, Polycom and Alcatel-Lucent.
In a nutshell, the solutions condense and simplify the work process:
- Voice Transformation Solutions includes simplified collaboration with centralized VoIP and traditional phone systems to create a single conduit for voice, data and video.
- Virtual Workplace Solutions gives users a single platform integrating unified messaging, web, video and data to secure clients' intellectual property.
- HP Network Readiness Services for UC coordinate network readiness with clients' UC roadmaps and eliminate network barriers, enabling clients to achieve their enterprise communication goals.
