iBasis expands Premium Voice termination to Asia/Pacific

The farther voice data has to travel, the more problems can arise. That's why iBasis, a subsidiary of Dutch telco KPN (NYSE: KPN), is expanding the places where it can handle voice termination. iBasis announced that it is expanding its Premium Voice international termination service in the Asia/Pacific region.

The company had recently expanded its network footprint in Asia with new infrastructure in Hong Kong and Singapore, but traffic was still being routed to an iBasis facility in Amsterdam. The new move means that the voice traffic will remain in the region. What does that mean for customers? Lower latency, higher voice quality and more flexible interconnect options. Now customers can interconnect ot the iBasis service on TDM, VPN via MPLS or managed IP. 

Premium Voice is iBasis' flagship international voice termination brand offering  high quality voice as well as advanced features including Caller Line Identifier, fax transmission, roaming, ISDN and ISUPv2.
