Intel and Siemens getting together on VoIP

Tools

Intel and Siemens are tying the knot on a VoIP technology development that sounds very IMS-ish. It's a little hard to tell from the report linked here, but it sounds like the two tech giants are particularly going after the secure wireless market in large-scale enterprises. At a minimum, the announcement seems to be that Intel will put its latest line of processors in Siemens' HiPath products. Siemens, of course, is in the process of selling its TDM business and sticking with its IP telephony business.
