IT EXPO West: Lots to see in IP Comm

IT Expo West starts next week and news ahead of the conference is already popping up to give us some idea of what we might see on the show floor. New tablet devices, in-home telepresence, Skype-based integration deals, new deskphones, hands free headsets merging mobile with UC--there is sure to be a lot of stuff to play with next week.

The conference is also boasting some speakers from key players in the IP communications space. We've got Jean-Pierre Lartigue of Alcatel-Lucent's Wireless division speaking Monday which should give you some indication that the IP comm space is a hotbed for the convergence of wired and wireless technology. Then on Tuesday, Phil Edholm from Avaya will no doubt show off his company's latest tablet and user experience combo. Finally, on Wednesday, Nigel Williams from Level 3 will speak--and given one area he focuses on is the Healthcare vertical, it might be interesting to see if he discusses how IP communications is affecting that market.
