Jajah and Jangl join voice 2.0 battle
Two of the better known VoIP start ups, Jajah and Jangl are teaming up to jointly promote VoIP services across a wide range of web sites. Jangl will use Jajah's telephony infrastructure, long distance and click-to-call features with Jangl promoting its social applications using voice. These are expected to include services for the online dating business sector. Both will also pursue ad-based VoIP calls. Jajah has teamed up with ad network Oridian to promote its services.
Jajah this week also launches its Jajah direct service which enables consumers to ring international destinations by dialing a local number.
The alliance is the first major collaboration in the voice 2.0 space and signals a new phase in VoIP deployment as the social network sites become the front line for many of the new web-based VoIP services. Other companies offering social voice apps include Walkie Talkie Chatterbox, Jastrow and Skype itself.
Adobe recently announced its Pacific project--a VoIP flash product which is part of Adobe's strategy to ensure it is not left behind in the Voice 2.0 space.
