Jajah Opens Up Eastern European Service

Tools

Not content to snap up Gizmo5, Jajah has launched direct service in four Eastern European countries, adding the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia.

The Jajah Direct service enables callers to make low cost international calls from any phone, providing a local number to dial in order to avoid long distance charges. The first time, a call is made to a centralized number into a gateway. After the call is completed, Jajah sends back a text message with a unique local phone number for the person that has been called; alternatively, local phone numbers can be generated through Jajah's website. Phone calls are piped through the Internet and don't require computers or soft clients.

Jajah's expansion marks the latest move for the company to expand both services and clients. In June Gnome5 and MailVision signed up to outsource their VoIP calling and billing infrastructure to Jajah, joining Yahoo.
