LG-Ericsson dials into U.S. voice market with iPECS-LIK

LG-Ericsson, which in August announced it was stepping into the North American market, has announced a full-featured business communications product family designed to enable IP communications for businesses.

The company said its iPECS-LIK is customer configurable, and it's built on an open architecture designed to grow with a company. IPECS-LIK delivers the functionality of a traditional PBX, but includes features like Unified Communications for conferencing-voice and video-data collaboration, remote and roaming user support and scalability.

The company said it integrates easily with a traditional telephony interface in either a centralized or a distributed network.

iPECS-LIK includes a full complement of products, including call servers, gateways, handsets software modules and all of the requisite accessories, allowing implementation of an efficient, custom, modular IP communications system that can expand with a company's needs.

Last August Korea's LG-Ericsson said it would combine its resources and research and development talent with those of Taiwan's Accton to develop a portfolio of scalable end-to-end data and voice networking solutions for businesses ranging in size from SMBs to large enterprises.

The just-announced suite of IP PBX systems should be followed soon by a full complement of business-class digital, IP, WiFi, SIP, soft phones, and multimedia terminals. Products also will likely include a host of smart, fully-managed and unmanaged switches with a robust Network Management Services (NMS) and Unified Device Manager (UDM) platform to provide easy management.
