magicJack gets VoIP upgrades with AudioCodes Mediant 5000 gateways

Tools

Sometimes it's hard to look at a VoIP service that you can buy in an infomercial and take it seriously, but magicJack is making moves to make sure people do take it seriously.

VoIP technology provider AudioCodes has announced that the YMax Communications Corporation--the network provider for the magicJack and magicTalk VoIP service offerings--has chosen AudioCodes' Mediant 5000/8000 High Availability Gateways for high quality VoIP connectivity to the PSTN in dozens of its core Switch locations in the United States. Using the Mediant 5000 redundancy, scalability and advanced voice processing capabilities, YMax hopes to provide its magicJack VoIP users with increased voice quality and better service availability.

"Expanding our deployment of AudioCodes' gateways is an essential component that allows us to continue providing the very best voice quality to our customers," said Dan Borislow, YMax Founder and CEO, and the inventor of the magicJack in a release. "AudioCodes' gateways provide us with the ability to grow to any size with full redundancy. After utilizing AudioCodes' gateways for a number of years in our larger sites, in line with our strategic growth plans, it became evident that we needed to implement AudioCodes' gateways exclusively."
