MegaPath offers enhanced network security
MegaPath today announced it was upgrading its Managed Security Services to help users identify dangerous content at the network edge and prevent them from impacting the last mile connection.
The CLEC also is also unveiling advanced reporting options that provide small-, medium- and large-enterprise users with statistics on the top viruses detected, IPS alerts and firewall logs.
"Protecting against the sheer volume of IT security attacks can be a daunting endeavor-regardless of how big your IT organization is," said Amy Larsen DeCarlo, principal analyst of security and data center services at Current Analysis. "The more organizations can keep threats from reaching their network, the better and more secure their operations will be."
MegaPath, citing an in-house study, said 63 percent of businesses are likely to rely on an outside security provider to manage both internal and external threats to network integrity.
"Cloud based security options are a growing alternative that a lot organizations are looking to expand," said S.L. Sweet, MegaPath's director of product management. "We have taken deliberate steps to make sure our privately managed MPLS network offer clean data pipes that are secure to the core."
