MetaSwitch names new CFO

MetaSwitch, a carrier VoIP systems provider, announced it has named Stephen Halstead Chief Financial Officer, according to a release. Halstead, who previously worked at England's Heart Telecom, has more than 19 years of experience in operations and corporate finance, 10 of which have been spent with telecom companies.

"MetaSwitch's record of continuous growth and consistent profitability over the last 28 years has been truly astounding," Halstead said in a statement. "I am proud to be joining such an accomplished team and look forward to making a positive impact on the company's operations."

MetaSwitch CEO John Lazar said Halstead would leverage his wealth of experience to drive growth and expansion at MetaSwitch, which recently surpassed 200 ILEC customers.
